Columbus police officer arrested for shoplifting while on-duty

UPDATE: On Thursday morning, the Columbus City Council unanimously voted to fire Conner from her position with the police department. 

An on-duty police officer in Columbus has been arrested for shoplifting.

Robin Conner, 33, was wearing her badge on Wednesday when she walked into a Dick’s Sporting Goods and allegedly stole from the store.

Her peers were called to Dick’s at 12:30 p.m. and arrested Conner before booking her into the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center at 1 p.m. on charges of shoplifting less than $1,000.

Conner’s court date is set for April 4.
