Hollywood stars are shining bright in west Mississippi.
On Wednesday, comedy icon Tiffany Haddish paid a visit to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office while in town filming her role in the upcoming film “The Deputy.” The movie, based on Victor Gischler’s novel, centers around a young sheriff’s deputy who uncovers a convoluted string of corruption in his hometown.

Haddish plays Deputy Amanda Jackson alongside Duke Nicholson, who plays the main character, Deputy Toby Sawyer. Duke Nicholson is the grandson of legendary actor Jack Nicholson. While not filming, Haddish took some time to pose for photos and visit with the men and women who serve in Adams County law enforcement.
“Your kindness, humor, and willingness to engage with our staff truly brightened our day — it’s not every day we get to share laughs and photos with such an incredible talent,” Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten wrote to Haddish following her visit.
“Your visit meant a lot to us, and we appreciate you bringing so much joy to our department. Thank you for your generosity and for taking a moment to connect with the people who work hard to serve our community. We’re all huge fans and won’t forget this special experience!”
Other prominent stars who have roles in the movie being filmed in Mississippi include William H. Macy (Shameless), Stephen Dorff (Blade), Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), and Colleen Camp (Clue). No release date has been announced for the film.
