The worker, who has since been identified by Coroner David Ruth as Timothy Brister, received severe head injuries after reportedly falling 20 feet.

First responders arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, with an AirCare helicopter transporting Brister to the hospital to treat his head wounds.

Brister was working on renovations to the school’s facilities prior to his passing.

East Rankin will be closed for spring break throughout next week.
