The Columbus Municipal School District reported that the bus was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Monday around 7:20 a.m. Officials said the wreck occurred at the intersection of Winterset Drive and North Gaywood Avenue. Emergency personnel, including the school district’s police department, responded to the scene.
Officials added that there were 34 students on the bus at the time of the accident. All pupils, including a bus monitor, and the bus driver were examined by emergency personnel from Baptist Golden Triangle. One student was taken to the hospital for further assessment as a precaution.
