Mississippi’s favorite car show is right around the corner.

Scheduled for Oct. 1-8, another big turnout is expected for this year’s edition of Cruisin’ the Coast.

“We’re getting ready for a big event this year,” Cruisin’ the Coast executive director Woody Bailey said on MidDays with Gerard Gibert. “We are preparing for 10,000 people to register, which would be the biggest year yet.”

In 2022, Cruisin’ the Coast had 9,618 vehicles registered. As of last month, 8,515 were already pre-registered for the 27th annual event. Representation so far includes 43 states, Canada, and England.

“We’ll probably have a few more states that we’ll pick up through on-site registration,” Bailey continued. “We also surely want to invite everybody from all over the state to come see us. If you haven’t made a room reservation yet, I think there’s still time to make one. Pack up and come see us.”

Entertainment for this year includes the typical flame-throwing competition, burnouts, as well as performances from The Beach Boys, The Blues Brothers Soul Band, and Simply The Best.
