Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced Tuesday night that he will be running for president once again come 2024.

Trump, a Republican, served as president from 2016-2020 before being unseated by former Vice President and current President Joe Biden.

During his speech at his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Fla., the former president stated that he believes America is a nation in decline due to the policies and governance of Biden.

“In order to make America great and glorious again I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States. I will fight like no one has ever fought before,” Trump said. “I will ensure that Joe Biden does not receive four more years.”

While Trump is the first amongst Republicans to announce a presidential bid for 2024, there has been speculation that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will eventually throw his hat in the ring.
