Doner Shack, a Berlin-inspired Mediterranean fast-food chain, is expanding into Mississippi with several incoming locations.
According to a news release, Doner Shack agreed to a six-unit deal with Helen 28, a multi-unit franchising company led by Mohamed Hamoud. The release did not disclose where the Mississippi locations will be or when they will open. However, the deal positions Doner Shack as “one of the most aggressively expanding fast-casual brands in the country” with 65 units being awarded so far in 2025.
“We see Mississippi as a huge opportunity,” Hamoud said. “Doner Shack delivers a product that fits incredibly well within the [quick service restaurant] space. It’s operationally sound, fills a gap in the market, and is primed for explosive growth.”
Hamoud – who has successfully franchised units with Dunkin’ Donuts and Buffalo Wild Wings, among others – referenced recent success of Doner Shack in Tennessee as proof the brand will succeed in Mississippi.
“Following the success of our Tennessee deal, this expansion into Mississippi makes good business sense, and we’re wasting no time,” he continued.
Doner Shack currently operates in India, the U.K., and 14 U.S. states but is registered to develop in all 50 states. The restaurant offers various European street foods like kebabs, served in wraps, sandwiches, or bowls. Its menu also features chicken tenders, fries, and milkshakes.
