An elderly man is confirmed to have passed away after being struck by a train in Hattiesburg.
On Wednesday, around 9:30 a.m., authorities responded to the 100 block of Stubbs Street after being notified that a southbound train had hit a pedestrian, as reported by WDAM. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders located the pedestrian and transported him to a local hospital.
Officials later identified the man hit by the train as 65-year-old Carl Gray, who ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Law enforcement is investigating the fatal incident.
