Mississippi’s Primary Election Results 2024

J.T. Mitchell

With polling locations across Mississippi now closed, voters wait to see who will win the Republican and Democratic primaries for five congressional seats and the office of president. Below, you can keep up with live results as they come in.

President

On the GOP side, former candidates Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy were still on the ballot as all three met Mississippi’s filing deadline. However, former president and once again candidate Donald Trump is the only one who has not dropped out of the race. On the Democratic ticket, incumbent Joe Biden is the only candidate.

U.S. Senate

While Cindy Hyde-Smith isn’t up for reelection until 2026, Roger Wicker is facing two challengers on the Republican ticket: former military man Ghannon Burton and state Rep. Dan Eubanks of DeSoto County. Ty Pinkins is unopposed in the Democratic primary.

U.S. House District 1

Incumbent Republican Trent Kelly is unopposed in the Republican primary while Dianne Black and Matthew “Bronco” Williams duke it out for the Democratic nomination.

U.S. House District 2

Bennie Thompson is seeking a 16th term as he runs unopposed in the Democratic primary. Ron Eller, Andrew Smith, and Taylor Turcotte are battling for the Republican nomination.

U.S. House District 3

After being forced into a GOP run-off in 2022, incumbent Michael Guest drew no challengers this time around.

U.S. House District 4

Republican Mike Ezell is looking for his second term in Congress after the former Jackson County sheriff was voted into office in 2022. He has two challengers in Carl Boyanton and Michael McGill. On the Democratic ticket, Craig Raybon is the lone candidate.
