Elvis Presley Lake will soon reopen to the public after having been closed since the summer of 2021.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks announced that the Tupelo body of water named after the “King of Pop” will relaunch with youth fishing day held on Saturday, May 18 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Fishing will be open to those 15 years of age and under. All youth must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years old and has a valid Mississippi fishing license.
Elvis Presley Lake will open to the general public on Wednesday, May 22 at 6 a.m. A state lake permit and a valid Mississippi fishing license will be required unless exempt under state law.
The outdoor attraction is a recently renovated 322-acre state fishing lake. The lake has been stocked with largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, red ear sunfish, catfish, and shad, per wildlife officials. The facility will be open to fishing and boating only.
While fishing operations will ensue at the reopening of the venue, the campground will remain closed until renovations are completed.
