An inmate who escaped from a work center in Noxubee County has been captured by law enforcement.
Officials said that Robert Cage, 20, was taken into custody hours after the Friday morning escape, courtesy of a joint effort between the Macon Police Department and the Noxubee County Sheriff’s Office. Cage was caught around 7 p.m. after a citizen reported seeing him at a local KFC.
Police did not specify where exactly they located and handcuffed the suspect.
“Perfect example of teamwork from all agencies,” Macon Mayor Freddie Poindexter said.
Cage was locked up on a possession of a firearm by a convicted felon charge. No further information has been made available regarding new charges he potentially faces.
