A massive wildfire in Jefferson Davis County is now 50 percent contained, according to the Mississippi Forestry Commission.

The fire, which broke out Saturday, is currently burning 1,500 acres. Officials said windy conditions over the weekend have made it harder to put out.

Another fire in George County burned 119 acres on Friday.
