Fitch becomes GOP nominee in Attorney General race

In Tuesday night’s runoff, Lynn Fitch beat out Andy Taggart to earn the Republican nomination in the race for Attorney General.

The race was close throughout the night, and when it was called, Fitch held a slim 52-48% lead over Taggart. Afterward, the current state treasurer said that she was honored to receive the support of Mississippians after running a positive campaign and that she is looking forward to November’s general election.
