A former Hattiesburg attorney will spend the rest of his life behind bars for sexually abusing a child.
A Forrest County grand jury found Brandon Brooks, 48, guilty of sexual battery of a child under the age of 14. Court records revealed that Brooks began abusing the victim when the child was 9 years old.
The abuse is said to have continued until the victim was 13 and included an incident at the former attorney’s law office in Hattiesburg.
Brooks will serve his time behind bars in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He is not eligible for parole or early release.
