Former House member Tommy Reynolds wins mayoral election in Water Valley

Tommy Reynolds served in the Mississippi legislature for 44 years before deciding not to seek reelection in 2023

There’s a new mayor in Water Valley following a special election on Tuesday.

According to official results provided by the city, Tommy Reynolds led the field with 599 votes, easily defeating Ron M. Hart (183 votes) and Terry L. Rockette (64 votes).

An attorney by trade, Reynolds will serve the next 16 months as Water Valley mayor after Donald Gray’s recent resignation to become chancery clerk in Yalobusha County.
