Former Miss Mississippi Emmie Perkins featured on ‘Family Feud’

Emmie Perkins and her family on 'Family Feud'

Former Miss Mississippi Emmie Perkins continues to find the limelight, this time on the hit game show Family Feud.

The Hattiesburg native and her family auditioned to be on with star host Steve Harvey back in 2019 and were informed that they had been selected. Unfortunately, COVID-19 hit which temporarily paused filming for the show. Fast-forward to April 2023 – just months after Emmie had been crowned Miss Mississippi – the Perkins family received a call from the producers, asking if they would like to be on.

“I happened to be Miss Mississippi during that year that they called us and said, ‘Would y’all be willing to come on the show,’” Emmie recounted on Good Things with Rebecca Turner. “I thought, ‘This was incredible timing.’ And we went and we were on the show. We filmed in April in Atlanta, Georgia, and the rest is history.”

Emmie, who became the first Miss Mississippi to be featured on Family Feud when the first two episodes were released this week, said her family was a perfect fit for the show.

“When you have a family as crazy and rambunctious as mine, you’re sure to make the show,” Perkins joked. “We had a blast getting to know everyone and spending the week in the audience and on stage playing the game. It was incredible getting to spend time with Steve Harvey.”

As for how many episodes the Perkins’ will be part of, Emmie said the first two can be watched on ABC and its streaming services. She also teased more to come as season 26 continues through 2025.

“I’ve been on two episodes total, so you’ll see two air and you may see more in the future. You never know.”
