A familiar face to Ole Miss football is returning to the program, but this time as a member of Lane Kiffin’s coaching staff.
Former Rebel wide receiver Donte Moncrief is making his way back to Oxford to serve in a player personnel and recruiting role. The news comes after Ole Miss lost its director of player personnel, Alex Brown, and assistant director of player personnel, Marvin Nash, to other programs in the offseason. Kelvin Bolden, the coordinator of recruiting strategy, also departed for a gig at LSU.

Moncrief, a Raleigh native, is a household name in Oxford, courtesy of a stellar three-year stint with the red and blue. As a wideout with the Rebels, Moncrief logged 156 receptions for 2,371 yards and 20 touchdowns. He went on to have a seven-year NFL career, one mostly spent with the Indianapolis Colts, recording 205 receptions, 2,576 yards, and 21 scores.
Since his time in the NFL ended following the 2020 COVID-19 season, Moncrief has returned to his home state and has remained a vocal cheerleader for his alma mater. He will now begin his first coaching job in the collegiate ranks, appropriately at Ole Miss.
