Skeletal remains found near a Mississippi military post have been identified.

According to the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office, the remains discovered in October 2022 near Camp Shelby were those of Kimberly Ann Hall. As to how Hall died, that is still unknown, but this is a massive step in the investigation.

The FCSO continued in its announcement, saying they were able to identify the remains with the help of Othram Labs, a private corporation that specializes in genetic genealogy. Detectives sent a DNA genetic profile they were able to extract from the remains to Othram, which found a match.

Hall’s remains were initially discovered by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks on October 20, 2022. If anyone has any relevant information regarding the case, they are asked to contact the FCSO at (601)545-6148.
