Grammy week is here, and the GRAMMY Museum Mississippi is gearing up for music’s biggest awards show.

Beginning Wednesday, the museum will be hosting a Grammy Trivia Night at Hey Joe’s Bugers + Beer in Cleveland. On Thursday, singer Carla Thomas will be hosting a free education workshop at 10 a.m. before being part of a spotlight event at 7 p.m. Both events will be at the museum with the latter being free for members and $15 for non-members.

Thomas, the daughter of Rufus Thomas, is considered the “Queen of Memphis Soul.” At age 17, she became one of the first artists to cut a record at Stax Records with her and her father’s release of “Cause I Love You.” Carla went on to record solo hits in “Gee Whiz (Look At His Eyes)” and “B-A-B-Y.” She also joined Otis Redding behind the mic for “Tramp,” which climbed up to No. 1 on R&B charts across the globe.

On Friday, the museum is inviting children 12 and under to come out for Kids Rock the Red Carpet. From 6-8 p.m., kids will get to walk the red carpet with “paparazzi” taking photographs. There will also be karaoke and a chance to view the museum’s exhibits after hours. Tickets are $15 for kids and $10 for adults.

To wrap up Grammy week and get people ready for the big event, admission to the museum will be free on Sunday until 3 p.m.

“GRAMMY season is our favorite time of the year, and we can’t wait to welcome our community to GRAMMY Museum Mississippi for a week of events in celebration of the 66th annual GRAMMY Awards,” the museum’s executive director, Emily Havens, said. “It is sure to be an exciting week full of special events to celebrate the storied GRAMMY Awards ceremony.”

The Grammys will begin at 7 p.m. and be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.
