Grammy award-winning singer and Hollywood Walk of Fame star recipient Brandy Norwood is returning to her home town for a special celebration.
Brandy, also a New York Times best-selling author, will make an appearance at McComb’s July 6 Live After Five event, where she will be recognized by city, county, and state legislative leaders for her role in shining a positive light on Mississippi. The event will also feature a live performance by Grammy-nominated blues artist Mr. Sipp.
Live After Five will take place in downtown McComb on Main Street between Broadway and Front Street. It will begin at 5 p.m. and is free to the public.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Brandy back to McComb to celebrate her already legendary career,” McComb Main Street Association Executive Director Brandon Andrews. “After recently receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this is the perfect opportunity for her hometown to honor one of its own. We look forward to celebrating her accomplishments while building even greater excitement for the many successes that are still ahead.”
Brandy, an R&B star commonly referred to as “The Vocal Bible,” rose to prominence in the 1990s, with her duet alongside Monica titled “The Boy is Mine” earning her a Grammy award. She recently collaborated with pop sensation Ariana Grande to record a remix of the hit song.
