A Greenville man has turned himself in, admitting to law enforcement that he pulled the trigger in a shooting that killed a woman on June 25.
According to the Greenville Police Department, Rodney Haney walked into the department on the morning of June 26 and voluntarily surrendered, telling officers he had shot a woman on Alexander Street. He has since been charged with murder.
Haney told investigators that he and the victim, Minnie Coffey, had been in a “dating relationship” for around four years but declined to provide any additional details without an attorney present.

“The Greenville Police Department extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim and remains committed to conducting a thorough and professional investigation,” Police Chief Marcus R. Turner Sr. said in a statement.
