A Gulfport woman with a history of abusing emergency services has been arrested once again after she reportedly dialed 911 multiple times without a valid reason early Friday morning.
According to the Gulfport Police Department, 42-year-old Angela Maria Shavers was taken into custody and charged with 10 counts of abusive calls to an emergency telephone service.
At around 3:33 a.m., dispatchers received 10 separate calls to the 911 line from Shavers in a short span of time. Authorities determined that none of the calls entailed legitimate emergencies.
Shavers, who has two prior felony charges for 911 abuse, was arrested without incident, processed, and taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held on a $100,000 bond, police said.
The suspect was previously arrested in September 2024 after claiming a drive-by shooting had been committed by a Gulfport Police officer. She was convicted of abusing the emergency system that same day.
Police said no additional information about the current case is being released.
