Over 120 pounds of meth heading to Gulfport were seized by law enforcement after being discovered inside a car being hauled.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that on Wednesday around 11:40 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a car hauler for a traffic violation. The stop was made near the 24-mile marker on Interstate 10 in Pass Christian.
During the stop, officers searched a Honda Odyssey located on the car hauler and found 123 pounds of methamphetamine, which were hidden inside natural voids within the vehicle.
After checking the shipping paperwork, it was learned that the narcotics were en route to Gulfport. Investigators determined the driver of the car hauler was not a person of interest and was released. The investigation into the incident continues.
