A Mississippi teenager has been arrested after allegedly shooting a fellow teen with a shotgun.
According to the Hazlehurst Police Department, an unidentified 16-year-old male opened fire on an unidentified 15-year-old female, striking her in the shoulder. The incident took place Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. on Maple Street.
The victim was rushed to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and is expected to make a recovery from injuries sustained. The male suspect has been charged with aggravated assault.
Police are still unsure what provoked the shooting.
