A man has been found guilty of capital murder after shooting and killing another man in Lexington during a robbery gone wrong on Valentine’s Day in 2018.
Calvin Gibson is accused of shooting and killing Brandon Cooper on February 14, 2018. Gipson and cohort Dworne Brown are said to have attempted to rob Cooper and another man, identified as Grant Genous, Jr.
The two parties had allegedly been in an altercation over drugs, ultimately leading to Gipson opening gunfire and taking Cooper’s life.
Gibson has been sentenced to serve one life sentence without the possibility of parole.
