A member of the Supertalk Family is doing everything she can to raise awareness of Huntington’s Disease research, and we want to help her in any way we can. Heather Thurgood is member of the Supertalk team in Brookhaven, and her husband Nathan was diagnosed with Huntington’s. If you aren’t familiar with Huntington’s, imagine ALS, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s rolled into one, but there is hope! Medicine has improved enough in the last 30 years to hopefully have a medication that could slow or stop the progression of Huntington’s Disease in the next few years.
You can hear from Heather and Nathan as they tell their story below –
You can hear JT’s conversation with one of Nathan’s doctors, Dr. Victor Sung from UAB below –
You can see JT put out the call for any ideas YOU might have to help raise awareness of Huntington’s Disease below –
Do you remember the Ice Bucket Challenge? It raised money for research and awareness of ALS in a way not even the best bake sale could, and we want to know if you've got any ideas for how to raise awareness of Huntington's Disease! Leave your idea in the comments below. #JTShow
