Initial damage reports from Wednesday night and Thursday morning severe weather event

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is assisting counties affected by the severe weather event which hit parts of the state last night and this morning.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported to MEMA at this time.

Many people are still without power.  You can click here to view outages in your area.

So far, three counties have submitted official damage reports to MEMA. Further damage assessments will be conducted throughout the next several days.  Remember, these are initial reports. 

(Not all three counties are listed below)

  • Pike –  An estimated 20 homes are damaged/inaccessible.  An estimated 40 roads are closed due to debris and/or damage

If you sustained damage during the April 22-23 severe weather, please report the damage using the citizen self-reporting tool.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is working with local county EMA directors to assess the need for long-term sheltering.
