A former Biloxi police officer has surrendered himself to authorities after being notified that he had warrants for selling drugs and money laundering.
Jacob Noel Vickers, 23, is accused of conspiring to sell controlled substances and laundering money that he acquired while employed with the coastal city’s law enforcement department.
The former officer is also suspected to have hindered the prosecution of a suspected drug dealer by giving the alleged criminal sensitive information from the city’s police databases.
Biloxi’s special crimes unit conducted an investigation into the officer, leading to the findings of multiple instances of illegal actions taken by Vickers while he was wearing the badge. Vickers was an active member of BPD when the investigation began and was promptly terminated ahead of the warrants being issued.
Vickers’ warrants were issued following a probable cause hearing conducted by the Harrison County prosecutor in circuit court. He was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he is held on a $300,000 bond.
