An investigation is underway after an officer-involved shooting in Natchez left one person critically injured.
According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, officers with the Natchez Police Department were attempted to serve a warrant on Sunday. Upon arriving to the residence on South Canal Road, the subject displayed a firearm, which resulted in an exchange of gunfire between the subject and officers.
The subject, whose identity has not been released, was struck and sustained critical injuries. They were transported to a local hospital to be treated.
No officers were injured.
