The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a mass shooting that took place Sunday morning at a local nightclub.
According to WTVA, one person was killed and 12 people were injured in the shooting at Club Oasis in West Point.
The local TV station reported that the incident happened shortly after midnight and the one person killed was a 20-year-old woman from Columbus whose identity has not been released. The other victims are expected to make a full recovery as most were grazed.
A suspect was believed to have been chased into a nearby wooded area by security, but they were able to escape.
