Ja Morant’s sister, Teniya, commits to Mississippi Valley State

Teniya Morant, the sister of Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant, has announced that she will be taking her talents to Itta Bena to play for the Mississippi Valley State women’s basketball team.

Morant is a 5-foot-3 senior at Houston High School in Germantown, Tenn. According to MaxPreps, she averaged 10.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game for the Mustangs.

The 18-year-old point guard took to Instagram to proclaim her commitment to play at MVSU, writing, “Let’s go devilettes” in the caption of her post.

MVSU was Morant’s first Division 1 offer. Though she later received interest from Grambling State University, the point guard decided to stick with the Devilettes.
