As summer nears, officials at the Jackson airport have announced an expanded slate of flight options for travelers ready to vacation.
From now through August, the number of flights out of Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) increases by 5% versus summer 2024, while the seats available to travelers increase by nearly 3%.

“We are excited to offer even more travel options for our passengers in Jackson and central Mississippi this summer,” Jackson Municipal Airport Authority CEO Rosa Beckett said. “At Mississippi’s busiest airport, we are truly grateful to everyone who chooses to fly JAN – you are truly the reason we continue to grow and thrive.”
JAN currently offers direct flights to nine airports through Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, United Airlines, and Southwest Airlines.
Delta Air Lines, which is Jackson’s longest-serving airline since 1929, has eight daily flights to Atlanta, which offers access to nearly 1,000 daily flights to five continents. Delta’s seat offering will total around 100,000 this summer departing from JAN.
American Airlines will offer up to 90,000 seats during the peak summer period, with six daily flights to Dallas, four to Charlotte, and one to Washington, D.C.
United Airlines will offer nearly 30,000 seats and five daily flights to Houston. From there, travelers can access six continents.
Southwest Airlines recently added a direct flight from Jackson to Nashville, giving Mississippians dozens of destinations via the Music City.
