Operations have returned to normal at two Mississippi charter schools following a report of a weapon on campus.
Smilow Collegiate and Smilow Prep in Jackson are back in session after a brief lockdown on Thursday. The schools share a campus along Northside Drive.
Capitol Police officers were dispatched to the scene to determine whether or not there was a weapon on site.
After investigating, law enforcement authorities determined there was no credible threat to the schools.
“We are following up on family communications sent this morning via School Status to update our community that the lockdown at Smilow Collegiate and Smilow Prep has been lifted,” a release from the schools reads. “All scholars and staff are safe, and normal school operations have resumed.”
No arrests have been announced. Police say they are continuing to investigate this case.
