Local chef and business owner Nick Wallace has been named the Mississippi Small Business Person of the Year for his work in the culinary arts.

Wallace has been featured on numerous cooking shows such as Food Network’s “Chopped” and “Fire Masters,” as well as appearing as a finalist on Bravo’s “Top Chef.”

The Jackson native has since been operating a small business in the Magnolia State for nearly two years after opening the Nissan Café By Nick Wallace at the Two Mississippi Museums in July of 2021.

“Very special time in my life and my lengthy career. Thank you Mississippi for the love back, much appreciated,” Wallace wrote on social media.

Wallace will be recognized at the National Small Business Week awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. in April.
