A Jackson County man has pleaded guilty to murdering his father two years ago.
Robert Dane Baxter, 51, pled guilty to second-degree murder in connection to the death of his father, Thomas Donald Baxter, 77. The father was found deceased in a Gulf Park Estates residence on January 18, 2022.
Robert was initially charged with first-degree murder for the death but was able to work his way down to a lesser charge. Details surrounding Thomas’ death have not been released by authorities.
The son has been sentenced to spend 30 years behind bars and 10 years on probation.
