Capitol Police are inviting the public to take part in this year’s “National Night Out,” a community event designed to strengthen ties between law enforcement and neighborhoods.
The free event will be held Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium, located at 2531 North State Street. Activities will include food, live music, and games, with a focus on building positive connections between officers and residents.
“We believe in unity,” Capitol Police Chief Bo Luckey said in a statement. “National Night Out is an expression of what makes us successful as law enforcement officers, and that is the trust and confidence of the public we serve. This is an opportunity to strengthen those bonds and enjoy one another’s company.”
The event aims to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie in an effort to create safer and more caring places to live.
Registration is open for homeowner associations and vendors. For more information, contact Lt. Jeremy Gordon at (769) 209-3335 or [email protected].
