U.S. Congressman Bennie Thompson has announced the awarding of a $299,769 science grant to Jackson State University.
The grant, funded by the National Science Foundation, will go to support a study at the university titled “RII Track-4: NSF: Understanding Perovskite Solar Cell Passivation at The Level of Organic Functional Groups through Ultrafast Spectroscopy.”
Led by Physics Professor Qilin Dai, researchers will learn hands-on skills and measurement principles while collecting data to fully understand ultrafast spectroscopy. The project will provide a fellowship to an assistant professor and a graduate student with both traveling to Emory University for six months to extend their expertise in the field.
