Defensive end Quincy Ivory led Jackson State (5-1, 3-0 SWAC) on defense with 12 tackles, 0.5 for loss, and 0.5 sack. The Florida transfer also notched his first career interception, jumping a pass from Andrew Body, who led Alabama State (4-2, 2-1) with 349 yards through the air and 93 on the ground.
The win pushed the Tigers – ranked No. 14 in the FCS coaches poll – to the top spot in the SWAC’s East Division. Next up will be a bye week before Jackson State returns to play Grambling State in the HBCU Las Vegas Classic on Oct. 25.
