The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced Monday its 2025 postseason football awards following the recent conclusion of the regular season – and the list includes plenty of Mississippi players.
Of Mississippi’s three HBCUs that play in the SWAC, Jackson State led the way with 10 selections, five of whom nabbed first-team honors: running back Ahmad Miller, offensive lineman D’Andre Townes-Blue, offensive lineman Brian Williams Jr., defensive lineman Quincy Ivory, and linebacker Reid Pulliam.
Tigers on the second team were quarterback JaCobian Morgan, offensive lineman Quaveon Davis, wide receiver Nate Rembert, defensive lineman Jeremiah Williams, and defensive back Kam Sallis.
Miller leads the SWAC with 1,027 rushing yards behind stellar blocking from Townes-Blue, Williams, and Davis. Ivory leads the conference with six sacks, while Morgan, Pulliam, Rembert, and Williams can also be found on leaderboards in several statistical categories.
Jackson State and its slew of All-SWAC selections will keep playing this weekend as the Tigers host Prairie View A&M for Saturday’s conference championship. Kickoff at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. The winner will earn a bid to the Celebration Bowl, a game JSU won a season ago.
For Alcorn State, the Braves had five standouts lauded with postseason awards. Linebacker Stemarion Edwards landed on the first team while running back Reggie Davis, offensive lineman Cameran Rogers, defensive lineman Eric Thomas Jr., and punter Demetrion Duvall were voted to the second team. Edwards was near the top of the conference with 86 tackles, including 42 solo stops.
Mississippi Valley State’s lone All-SWAC selection was kicker Marko Jovisic.
