The Jackson State Tigers and head coach Deion Sanders will face off against the Southern Jaguars on Saturday in the 2022 SWAC championship game.
The Tigers, who are 11-0 for the first time in program history, are looking to win back-to-back conference championships after defeating Prairie View A&M 26-10 in 2021.
Southern, on the other hand, finished atop a weak SWAC West Division with a 7-4 overall record. It will be the second time the two teams meet this season, with Jackson State winning 35-0 on October 29.
The winner of the game will secure a spot in the Cricket Celebration Bowl – considered the HBCU national title game – on December 17 in Atlanta.
