Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart headlines a crowded field of players from Mississippi’s two SEC programs featured among some of the top players in the conference.
The all-conference team, as determined by head coaches across the league, was announced on Tuesday. Nine student-athletes from Ole Miss and three from Mississippi State cracked the list.
Dart, the most recent Conerly Trophy recipient, earned the coveted first-team spot at his position after throwing for 3,875 yards, 25 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. The standout field general was also highly valued for his ground game, as he accounted for 452 rushing yards and three scores this year.
Lane Kiffin’s Rebel club and conference peer Alabama had the most first-team players on this year’s All-SEC roster, with four athletes from each program earning a spot. Though Ole Miss was hopeful that its accumulation of talent would yield the school’s debut in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff, losses to Kentucky, LSU, and Florida were too great to overcome.
Below are the Ole Miss and Mississippi State players on the 2024 All-SEC team:
First Team
- Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen — 48 tackles (26 solo), 6.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and two passes deflected
- Ole Miss edge rusher Princely Umanmielen — 34 tackles (17 solo), 10.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery
- Ole Miss defensive back Trey Amos — 47 tackles (36 solo), one forced fumble, three interceptions, and 13 passes deflected
Second Team
- Ole Miss linebacker Chris “Pooh” Paul, Jr. — 86 tackles (48 solo), 3.5 sacks, one fumble recovery, one interception, and four passes deflected
- Mississippi State safety Isaac Smith — 127 tackles (46 solo), one forced fumble, and three passes deflected
Third Team
- Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris — 60 receptions, 1,030 yards, and seven touchdowns
- Mississippi State wide receiver Kevin Coleman, Jr. — 74 receptions, 932 yards, and six touchdowns
- Mississippi State running back Davon Booth — 152 carries, 759 yards, 13 receptions, 164 yards, and nine touchdowns
- Ole Miss defensive lineman Jared Ivey — 38 tackles (20 s0lo), seven sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and three passes deflected
- Ole Miss defensive lineman JJ Pegues — 41 tackles (18 solo), 3.5 sacks, 20 carries, 62 yards, and seven touchdowns
- Ole Miss linebacker Suntarine Perkins — 58 tackles (32 solo), 10.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one interception
Mississippi State’s season has come to an end, but Jeff Lebby landed more players on the all-conference squad in his inaugural campaign than his predecessor did one year ago. Coming off a 2-10 season, Lebby is looking to hit the portal hard and build a stronger roster than what he inherited.

As for Ole Miss, the Rebels are slated to take on Duke in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on January 2. While the Blue Devils will be without their starting quarterback, Maalik Murphy, neither Dart nor any of his teammates listed above have announced intentions to opt out of the contest.
