We are officially three months away from the upcoming college football season returning to the Magnolia State, and we now know when some Ole Miss and Mississippi State games will kick off.
Starting in Oxford, the Rebels will take the gridiron with a new face of the franchise after record-setting quarterback Jaxson Dart was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round of the NFL Draft. Austin Simmons, a highly touted southpaw, will take the reins of the Rebels’ offense with a myriad of weapons at his disposal. Pete Golding’s defense, after losing a ton of talent to the draft, will also feature a multitude of new, yet talented members.

Ole Miss will begin the 2025 campaign with Georgia State at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, before traveling to Kentucky in a revenge matchup against the Wildcats. The SEC matchup will occur on Saturday, September 6, at 2:30 p.m. and will air nationally on ABC. Lane Kiffin’s crew will then return home for another conference matchup. Ole Miss and Arkansas will kick off at either 6 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday, September 13, on ESPN or the SEC Network.

Over in Starkville, Mississippi State will look to flush last year’s 2-10 season and move onto a new horizon in year two of the Jeff Lebby era. Veteran signal caller Blake Shapen, whose most recent campaign was shortened due to injury, will lead the offensive charge for the maroon and white, as talented safety Isaac Smith looks to serve as a leader on the defensive end. Lebby also hauled in a myriad of transfers to fill roster holes and build depth on both sides of the ball.

Roberts Stadium on Saturday, August 30, at 11 a.m. ESPN is airing the game. Next in line for Mississippi State will be the team’s home opener against Arizona State. The Bulldogs will have the chance to avenge last year’s loss to the Sun Devils on Saturday, September 6, at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Mississippi State will then face Alcorn State on Saturday, September 13, at 5 p.m.
