A Lake High School football player was shot and killed near the intersection of Old Highway 80 and Johnson Town Road on Thursday night. The player, Travis Jones, was a senior starter on the team’s defensive line with 20 tackles recorded for the season.
Lake football coach Tate Hanna tweeted a photo of Jones following the news of his passing.

Tonight’s division 2A Region 5 contest between Lake and Philadelphia has been canceled due to the incident.
The shooting is currently being investigated by Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
