Multiple law enforcement agencies working in collaboration with one another were able to execute a successful drug bust against a northeast Mississippi man wanted on multiple charges.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson confirms that his department along with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics executed a search warrant in Verona and confiscated multiple illegal substances, two firearms, and thousands in cash. Johnny Arnez Dillard, 38, was arrested for trafficking drugs and illegally possessing guns.

At the time of his latest arrest, Dillard was on house arrest with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for previous felonies. His new charges include:
- Aggravated Trafficking of a Schedule II controlled substance – Methamphetamine
- Trafficking of a Schedule II controlled substance – Fentanyl
- Trafficking of a Schedule II controlled substance – Hydrocodone
- Trafficking of a Schedule II controlled substance – MDMA (Ecstasy)
- Trafficking of a Schedule II controlled substance – Oxycodone
- Felony Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Felony Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Possession of a stolen firearm
Dillard’s bond has been set at $750,000. Authorities are still assessing the case.
