A Mississippi man has been locked up for allegedly kidnapping and raping a woman.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Department reports that 29-year-old John Oakes sexually abused an unidentified victim against her will at an unspecified address in the Shannon area.
Oakes is said to have used a weapon during the time in which crimes were committed.
The suspect is charged with felony domestic violence/aggravated assault, kidnapping, and rape. His bond was set at $500,000.
No further information has been made available by law enforcement at this time.
