A Mississippi man has been arrested for allegedly posing as a police officer and holding a woman against her will during what he called a “sting operation.”
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation announced Thursday the arrest of Dwyon Altman, 23, of Meridian. Altman was charged with impersonating an officer, procurement of prostitution, and obscene electronic communication.
While not many details have been released, MBI confirmed the charges stemmed from an incident that happened at a Meridian hotel last month in which Altman lied to a woman about being an investigating officer and would not let her leave. The victim’s identity has not been released at this time.
The case was referred to MBI by the Meridian Police Department on Sept. 16.
