Man found rotting near Craft Center in Ridgeland over a month ago identified

Authorities have identified a man who was found deceased near the Waller Craft Center in Ridgeland over a month ago.

On August 7, Ridgeland police responded to the 900 block of Rice Road after a surveyor notified law enforcement that human remains had been spotted approximately 30 feet into the tree line. Police Chief Brian Myers said it appeared the deceased individual had been in the woods for multiple weeks.

Per a recent report from the Vicksburg Daily News, the deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Howard Hendren. He had been missing since July 13.

At this time, no foul play is suspected.
