During the 2020–2021 hunting season, all deer harvested in counties and dates listed below must be submitted for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) sampling by 10 p.m. on the day of harvest.

According to the Mississippi Department of the Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, permanent freezers will be available during these weekends, as well as temporary freezer sites and physical check stations which are listed below by region.

Hunters should preserve the head with at least 6 inches of neck attached. Antlers and skull plate may be removed without affecting the lymph nodes used for testing. If antlers are not removed, they cannot be returned to the hunter.

Testing in CWD Zones will be held on November 21st and 22nd.
