The city of McComb is searching for a new top cop following the announcement from Juan Cloy that he is retiring.
Cloy, who has been the city’s police chief since 2023, told leaders on Tuesday that June 16 will be his last day on the force. Prior to his time in south Mississippi, the longtime public servant served in various law enforcement roles in Jackson and Canton. His law enforcement career has spanned three decades.

Cloy was placed on paid administrative leave back in November following an officer-involved shooting that claimed the life of a 16-year-old. The police chief returned to his post less than a month later.
The retirement announcement from Cloy comes a week after McComb’s city administrator and city attorney stepped down from their positions.
