Mega Millions jackpot rises to nearly $1 billion

Mega Millions mississippi

The Mega Millions jackpot has risen to take the spot of the fifth-largest lottery prize in the game’s history after no ticket matched all six numbers during Tuesday’s drawing.

The winning numbers were white balls 3, 5, 6, 44, and 61, plus the gold Mega Ball 25.

Now, the grand prize is sitting at an estimated $910 million with a cash value of $464.2 million for Friday night’s drawing.

So far, there have been 28 consecutive rolls for the current Mega Millions game without a winner, with one ticketholder in New York hitting the jackpot on April 18.

Lottery officials are reminding players to check their tickets as 2,519,403 tickets were named winners in eight other prize tiers in the July 25 drawing.

Across the country, 54 tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball to win the third-tier prize. Seven of those tickets are worth $40,000 each because they also included the optional Megaplier. The other 47 win the standard $10,000 each.

Since the last jackpot was won on April 18, there have been a total of more than 23.2 million winning tickets at all non-jackpot prize levels, ranging from $2 up to $4 million.

Mega Millions is the only lottery game that has awarded four jackpots exceeding $1 billion – one each in 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
